Today while at work, I found an Am. Woodcock in the most unlikely place. It was under a tractor. I work at Warren Transport which holds and ships John Deere tractors. Our lot, which is all asphalt and has 5oo+ tractors. As I was walking through our lot today, I noticed the silhouette of a bird which I recognized right away as the Am. Woodcock! The bird was apparently tired and wanted a place to rest that was sheltered. It was there all afternoon and I called my dad, who showed up and got a great look at it as well. It was probably one of the best looks I've had of one, being since usually you just get a brief look after you have just flushed one up. It was definately the hilight of my work day!
