We saw our first ones ever today when the large flock of "blacks and gracks"
landed on our property this afternoon. Not sure I am thrilled about this, but
we also saw our first of the year Brown headed Cowbirds in that mix of birds.

I do have a question. I used Stokes field guide and Wikipedia to ID the bird,
Stokes says its ABA Birding code is 1 (Birds are common, widespread, easy to
see). Wikipedia says its conservation status is Vulnerable. Is this
conflicting, or do they mean two different things? I hope my question makes
sense.
