Having only recently discovered IA-BIRD Listserv and been only a "lurker," I have decided to make my first field report. This is a great service. I wish I had joined much sooner!
Sunday, March 26, 2012 Little Wall Lake - Ruddy Ducks Brushy Creek State Recreation Area - Northern Harrier, Northern Flicker, Eastern Bluebird, Tree Swallows, Northern Cardinal, American Coots, Lesser Scaup, Meadowlark (honestly can't tell Eastern and Western apart yet) Bjorkboda Marsh/Masterson Wildlife Management Area - Ross' Goose, Red-tailed Hawk, Mallards Don Williams Park - Buffleheads, Bald Eagle sitting in its nest Near Fraser along the Des Moines River - a pair of Helmeted Guineafowl And, of course, many Canada geese, Red-winged Blackbirds, Common Grackles and American Robins.
