We had two Broad-winged Hawks overhead today at the Lucas Unit of
Stephens Forest in Lucas County. At Pin Oak Marsh, just south of
Chariton, two Barn Swallows were first-of-the-year for us.
Bobwhites were no doubt singing/calling everywhere in Decatur County
this afternoon, but we didn't hear them. I seem to remember something
about singing into the wind. Or was it something else?
