I stopped at Lake MacBride, south shore just west of the Mehaffey Bridge
Rd. causeway. I was excited to find a Horned Grebe hanging out with the
Canada geese. There were Two Common Loons farther out, one was a
juvenile. I also caught a glimpse of either a common or red breasted
Merganser but was unable to relocated it for better identifying.
The Great Egrets are back. Four were hanging out in that southern tip of
Lake MacBride off 200th ST.
On the Coralville Reservoir, South of the Sugar Bottom Campground Beach
were a dozen White Pelicans and across the Lake were 25 cormorants, which
were really too far for me to see. Oh, and a pair of Osprey are checking
out/nesting at the bike trails hack tower. Cool!
