I went out with Cooper this morning to do a little atlasing in Jasper
Co. before it got too hot. At Lewis Park in Colfax there was a CAROLINA
WREN singing. This was a county bird for me, and I added it to the
county list on the IOU web site. Lewis Park is a nice, diverse little
park that always seems to have something unexpected. Fledglings of
several species were out and about, including Red-headed Woodpecker,
House Wren, Gray Catbird, Cedar Waxwing, Chipping Sparrow, and
Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
