While covering BBA block 351 in Carroll County, I located 2 Upland
Sandpipers. I spotted the first on Thursday afternoon. I was walking along
Delta Ave, between 330th and 320th, when suddenly the rather noisy bird
came flying overhead. I watched the individual for several seconds before
it gradually disappeared over a hill and into a nearby field. I fared much
better with the second Upland. It was right around 3:00 Friday afternoon
as I was scouting 330th St between Falcon Ave and Eagle Ave. I noticed the
bird in some tall grass right alongside the gravel road. I scared it up by
accident and it made lots of noise as it flew. Luckily, the bird returned
to the same spot within seconds and I was able to watch it for a few
minutes before moving on.
Yesterday evening, as I was driving to visit a friend, I noticed another
Upland. This sighting took place in Crawford County, on P Avenue, roughly
a quarter mile east of 380th St.

Happy Birding To All!!
