Swan Lake in the morning has been providing a spectacle of white
birds taking advantage of fish at low water levels. Great Egrets
and A.W. Pelicans were numerous and it's a good show while it lasts.

A pair of juv. BROAD-WINGED HAWKS have been hunting in the Matson
Pond area. Today I saw both in a dead tree but they glided out of
sight when I stopped. I believe they're from Hanging Rock Ridge,
across the river, where I've seen one in the woods earlier.

Shorebirding has been confined to Matson Pond and juveniles are now
most evident. Overall numbers remain modest with Stilt Sandpipers
and a juv. Wilson's Phalarope the best of 10 species.
