Ten gizzard shad joined me in the kayak off Sandy Beach at the Coralville Rez. That's way more than usual. I don't know if that means the numbers are up or they are just being jumpy. A hundred W. Pelicans and 300 RB Gulls are ready for the harvest. Saw a Green Heron in peak breeding plumage.
