Today, I went to George Wyth S.P. and did a little birding
after work and discovered an Ad. Least Tern at East Lake which
was resting with a Black Tern and 5 Forster's Terns that looked
like giants next to this bird! They were on the floating barrier
that divides East Lake with Basic Materials Company. This area
is off limits to boats and has been great for terns and gulls.
This is past the No Fishing and No Trespassing Signs. I have never
been ran out or confronted in all the years that I have birded here
and I will continue to bird here! :)
This is only the second record I have had in Black Hawk Co. I have
a written document of the first one I seen, which was here exactly
34 years ago on TODAY's date 8/16 of 1978 when I was a young 14 years
old!
Also seen 2 Olive-sided Flycatchers.

Good Birding,
Tommy Stone,
Evansdale
