It was present at 7:10 this evening and I left at 7:25 and it was still about preening. When I first located it; it was enthusiastically foraging around the egrets and GBHEs on a mudflat south of the end of the gravel car access near the water's edge at Jester. It was so enthusiastic that it sometimes would flush the egrets that it was foraging around. I watched the bird for about fifteen minutes, (light conditions were starting to fail) the last few minutes seemed to suggest that the bird was getting ready to roost for the night as it stopped foraging and started to preen and just stand about.
Definitely a magnificent bird, I for some reason wasn't expecting as much pink as it had. I did get some digi-scoped pictures but my record on digi-scoping is shaky at best. Also would like to thank the two people who told me where to look when I got to Jester, I'm very appreciative as I was afraid with the wind today (and the frontal activity) that the bird or its cohorts had left.
