When I put the dog out this morning, I heard a White-throated Sparrow trying to sing.

We had the first of my more or less every-other Wednesday Morning field trips from the CEC at Kent Park.  Actually we had one 2 weeks ago, but this one received better publicity.  Six people joined me and saw a few birds during a 90' leisurely walk.

14 species (+1 other taxa) :  1 Canada Goose, 2 Red-tailed Hawk, 1 Solitary Sandpiper, 7 Northern Flicker (Yellow-shafted), 1 Eastern Phoebe, 10 Blue Jay, 1 American Crow, 5 Black-capped Chickadee, 2 Tufted Titmouse, 1 White-breasted Nuthatch, 8 American Robin, 8 European Starling, 2 Common Yellowthroat, 1 warbler sp., 20 American Goldfinch

Red Admiral, Monarch.

Species numbers were probably down because of wind.

The next midweek birdwalk at Kent Park will be 10/3 at 8:00 a.m. at the CEC.

Good Birding,
