A hummingbird just stopped by one of the two nectar feeders that I still have hanging in the yard. Although I only saw the bird for a very short time, nothing about it caused me to think that it was anything other than Ruby-throated. It has been to the feeder twice in 15 minutes so I think I will get a better look at it soon. The last hummer that I saw in the yard was the evening of September 30. The Lesser Black-backed Gull is still in the same place at Lake Manawa. Thanks, Loren and Babs, for a great Iowa bird! Janet Greer Council Bluffs
