I think today counts as a "cold" day even in my estimation (yes--long pants and a coat were necessary for me today).
There are two confirmed "Prairie Falcons" in Woodbury Co. One appears to have settled into some city hunting (seen downtown in an old sighting location and also on the far east side of town on either side of Hwy 20 The other appears to be hunting the recent locations from about 260th south to 300th between Dallas and Emmet. Neither seems to have established any know places that they regularly hunt from. I have still NOT yet seen either one. Only notable species today were 65-70 Common Redpolls along Franklin Ave at Owego Wetlands. Wind was so gusty that I was no able to determine if there were any possible Hoary Redpolls amongst them. Very active and what appeared to be reasonably even numbers of m. and f. in the group. This flock was first reported by Jerry VonEhwegen but had not been relocated in the 5-6 days.
