Bremer Co. CBC was held Saturday and Cedar Falls-Waterloo
CBC was held on Sunday.  I don't have the official count
number results.  Francis Moore is compiling the count
numbers and will have them sometime later, but thought
I would mention some of the highlights.  We didn't find
any big rarities but did find some nice birds.
On the Bremer count, we tallied 13 species of waterfowl:
1 W.F. Goose
20 Snow Geese
2 Cackling Geese
1 Am. Black Duck
1 G.W. Teal
2 Hooded Mergansers
12 Gadwalls
10 Am. Coots
1 Juv. N.Goshawk
2 Merlins
1 G.B. Heron
R.H. Woodpecker 5-6?
2 Pileated Woodpeckers
2 Swamp Sparrows
1 Lapland Longspur
Rusty Blackbirds
On the Cedar Falls-Waterloo count the highlights were
18 species of waterfowl including:
Trumpeter Swans
2 Ross's Geese (Have been around now for about a month and a half)
25 Cackling Geese
4 D.C. Cormorants
2 Snow Geese
2 Am. Widgeons
Canvasbacks
1 Ruddy Duck
2 Am. Black Ducks
4 R.B. Nuthatches
Siskins
3 Swamp Sparrows
3 R.S. Hawks
