The bird feeders have been exceptionally busy the last few days after the
big blow on Weds-Thurs. 6 white-crowned, 1 imm. Harris', and 4 tree
sparrows, 11 goldfinches, 8 male and 6 female cardinals, 5 bluejays, 5
male and 3 female downy, 1 male and 1 female hairy and 1 male red-bellied
woodpecker, one male red-breasted and three male white-breasted
nuthatches,
3 mourning doves, 4 chickadees, at least 20 juncos, at least 25 house
finches and unfortunately at least 30 house sparrows. There is about an
inch of ice under a few inches of snow here so I threw a pile of coarse
sand under the feeders and it is disappearing fast.
