Hello Fellow Birders: This is a reminder that the IOU Projects Committee grant application period for 2013 opened Jan.1 and closes on March 1.
The Projects Committee reviews requests for funding from various entities for bird-related activities. These may include providing match money for habitat acquisition, projects to improve important bird habitats, publishing related to birding in Iowa research projects, or anything else that meets the mission of the Iowa Ornithologists' Union. The application form is available on the IOU website. Click on the yellow IOU tab, then the Leadership tab, then Projects Committee. The application is listed under Projects Committee. There is $5,000 available in the grant fund, so that is the maximum amount of $ that can be awarded. Usually the funds are distributed to several projects, but the distribution of funds depends on the quality of the proposals.
