Returning from Amana today, we observed a Red-tailed Hawk on the average of almost 1 bird per 1/2 mile between the Amanas and Tama, lots of American Kestrels along the entire route, a Short-eared Owl near West Amana, and 19 Sandhill Cranes in one flock at Otter Creek Wildlife Area.
