Yesterday and so far this morning there has been a hoary redpoll visiting
the feeder at the Kossuth County Conservation maintenance shop located
at the SE corner of Smith Lake.  Smith Lake is 3 miles north of Algona.
It is associating with a group of common redpolls that showed up here just
this week.  I have only gotten one pic so far, and it is of its backside.
But if you zoom in, you can definitely see the much lighter back as
compared
to the commons.  I have seen the pure white under tail area, and it is 
very faintly streaked along its sides.  It certainly stands out among the
common redpolls.  Uh oh!! As I am writing this, he has showed up again.
