Birders, I birded some spots in the Forest City area this morning before the weather turned rainy. Lots of migration ongoing up here.
Myre Slough--Winnebago County Sandhill Crane Crystal Hills WMA--Hancock County Rough-legged Hawk Crystal Lake--Hancock County 16 spp of waterfowl including Greater Scaup Mallard Marsh--Cerro Gordo County 16 spp of waterfowl Red-shouldered Hawk Northern Shrike Intersection of Cardinal Ave and Highway 9--Worth County Lesser Yellowlegs I also saw a single Vesper Sparrow along 185th ave near Forest City and there is a push of Dark-eyed Juncos at my in laws house with at least 100 being present along with 4 Fox Sparrows.
