I had fun hanging out with Ann Johnson on my lunch break at Easter Lake
today! The lifer she mentioned for me was a black-throated green warbler.
He was very cooperative and gave us many good looks. We also had orange
crowned and several yellow rumps, a swamp sparrow, and blue-gray
gnatcatchers among other things. Yesterday, there was a Caspian tern at the
beach. On Friday there was a Northern Mockingbird on the Lake Trail from
the beach side of the park.

My first Gray Catbird of the year has just arrived and immediately found the
jelly. Now I remember what I forgot to buy at the grocery store! But where
are my House Wrens? There were lots over the noon hour at Easter Lake
singing up a storm in the woods but I have yet to even hear one in my yard.
Bob Norris has had a few interesting sightings there this week but I won't
steal his thunder since we actually managed a life bird for him this noon.
