Birded the Croton Unit of Shimak this afternoon. Most of the birds were
near the parking lot area. A few including the Blue Grosbeak were along the
road going to the town of Croton. The Blue Grosbeak and Lark Sparrow were
seen about a half mile before you get to the Turkey Run Wildlife Area
parking lot. The mail box number is 2804. It is where grosbeaks were seen
in previous years. I think the mailbox used to have Palmer on it. There was
one eagle on the nest when we went by.
