This morning on my way to Red Oak on Hwy 48 I saw perched Barred Owl on a small post along side the road. It was intently looking down into the grass ditch, eyeing some critter I expect.
Then on the way home from work, close to 6:30 PM, also along Hwy 48, I saw a large flying bird (Turkey) and at first glance, only for a second though, it had the profile of a Cormorant. Anyway it sailed across the road in front of me and at a fairly good height found a tree branch to land on.
