I did a quick walk through this morning at Hickory Hill and was blessed
with the amazingly good fortune of seeing a CONNECTICUT WARBLER. It
jumped up onto a low branch, did a head scratch, called, and then
disappeared again into the tangle. I heard it call once again, but never
even saw a glimpse of it moving again. The 5-second look and call made it
unmistakable. I marked the spot with an x of sticks on the side of the
trail if anyone wants to look for it. I saw it about 8:15 am, on the
usual path of the bird club warbler walks, near the first bridge that
crosses the creek (entering trail from conklin ln entrance by the parking
lot). Life bird for me.
