That's neat!  When I was up in MN a couple of years ago to see Bob & Betsy 
Myers, I took the drive through Rice Lake and "got run over by a mad momma 
sandhill"...well not really run over but got a nice ding in my fender.  I 
stopped to talk to the ranger and he said they had just discovered new colts 
that morning.  Dad showed up also but I never got to see the youngin's.

On a field trip to Cardinal Marsh today, we saw proud sandhill crane parents 
with a downy new yellow colt. Of interest also were 4 white-fronted geese.
