My husband and I birded the section of the Twin Lakes trail that runs from the gravel road just north of the golf course to the end of the woods, where the trail heads both north and west. It's an area that always feels like it ought to be good for birds, but in reality has not been in past years. Today was by far the best day I've ever had out there.
The best bird of the day was an Indigo bunting. I was conservative on the empid count: there were probably more than 2, but they were moving around enough I didn't want to risk double counting a bird.
