Around 11 a.m. I found a male BLACK-NECKED STILT in wetland type
habitat just southeast of Tama. I was scoping Great Egrets (13) when 
I spotted the white parts of the bird in emerging cattail vegetation.
Otherwise, it could have easily been overlooked in the leg deep growth.
The location was on the north side of L Ave. (off Hwy. 30 Business)
where it parallels the train tracks.
