Highway 210 enters Woodward from the west, makes a left turn, and runs through the city (as Main Street); then it passes under Highway 141 and comes to an end. Just before it goes under 141, S Ave. leads off to the right and snakes around. (It is a dirt road.) The house is 13419 S Ave. There is a longish driveway up to the house and a pen with goats and turkeys to the right. The nest is in the largest tree in the windbreak at the back of the lot.
The owners reported the birds to a friend of mine who passed it on to me. They then told her (without knowing me) that I could come and park in the driveway and walk on the property to see the birds any time. They did not invite the general public, but they want to have it decided and I am sure would welcome anyone who comes for that purpose. If it turns out to be true, I will ask them if they are open to more than just a few visitors. ------------------------- Jim Murdock Dept. of Mathematics (emeritus) Iowa State University Ames, IA 50011 [email protected] or [email protected] --- Please contribute your sightings to our list; it is only as good as members make it! --- Birding channel recommendation for FRS/GMRS radio use: Primary selection; channel 5/0 , alternate selection; channel 6/0 --- This mailing list is sponsored by the Iowa Ornithologists' Union.
