At Horseshoe Bend in Louisa County, among the pectorals and other peeps and shorebirds was a bright juvenile Western Sandpiper. Also there were three Black-necked Stilts along the Carman road just past Ellison Creek and a mile before Carman across from Burlington. Unfortunately for Iowa birders they were just over the river in Illinois
