This morning BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS finally showed up on the
southern side of the Hawkeye Wildlife Area. At least three were
along the east side of Sand Point's access in the recently plowed
field. Also, 5 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS, Pectoral Sandpipers, and
Killdeer were taking advantage of the plowed fields.

Greencastle Ave. had a pair of BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and a modest
flock of shorebirds until all took to the air. I failed to find the
threat but shorebirds were more skittish today. Even a Kestrel had
them in the air earlier but it may have interested in the peeps.

In addition to 13 shorebird species today were a Caspian Tern,
marsh Bobolink, and a Franklin's Gull (Coralville Lake).
