Today I scoped a juv/fm SURF SCOTER from the parking lot near DNR
Headquarters on Amana Road. It was in the company of a small
raft of Ruddy Ducks on the north side of Hawkeye WMA.

I also checked Lake Macbride and found a lone AMERICAN AVOCET
at the upper end of the north arm. But it wasn't lonely, as it
was among 800 resting Franklin's Gulls.
