This morning 20 AMERICAN AVOCETS were flying around Pleasant
Creek Lake for the entire time I was there. The lake doesn't
have much shorebird habitat and it was curious why they didn't
land or move on. But they were a nice sight, being black and white
at this time of year.

A fair number of assorted puddle ducks were rafted in the middle
of the lake with 11 Horned Grebes. Ruddy Ducks and 3 Lesser Scaup
were the only diving ducks present.
