Birders, Before the trip to Red Rock to see the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher this afternoon, Graham and I made a quick loop around Saylorville. Pied-billed Grebes, American Coots, Ring-billed Gulls, and Franklin's Gulls were numerous on the lake and there was a few rafts of ducks visible from the dam. However, being in the family van and not my car (regular birding vehicle), I had a scope with no mounting device making it difficult to ID the ducks. We did have FOS Dark-eyed Juncos near Polk City Refuge and FOS Harris's Sparrows at Jester Park.
