For the past several weeks I have been checking the big water in Dickinson county (Spirit Lake and West Lake Okoboji) for the next wave of waterfowl migration. It has not happened yet and there is little to report until it does.
This morning I went down to the Waterman Creek area. Lots of robins and waxwings but I could not make any of them into a Bohemian. I was also unable to locate a Townsend's Solitaire at any of my favorite habitat locations. I did find a Northern Shrike, a small flock of Eastern Bluebirds and several Fox Sparrows. There will be more to come. Lee A. Schoenewe Spencer --- This mailing list is sponsored by the Iowa Ornithologists' Union.
