I observed some interesting fall Bluebird behavior today, while bow hunting
from my deer stand.

Six bluebirds began working their way past my stand today, when two males and
one female became interested in a woodpecker hole in the top of a dead
willow..just 50ft from me. The female checked it out, and then one of the males
did also. When the 2nd male came to the hole to check it out, the first male
launched, and the two circled each other and sparred in mid-air. This happened
a couple of times before all the bluebirds moved off.

Interesting how nesting instincts and their competitive nature prevailed, even
in late fall!

Saw approximately 1,000 gulls at the Brenton feed lot NW of Grimes, on my way
home.
