Milford township fields and ephemeral ponds have been visited by a number of duck and goose species.
Snow melt water covers about 90% of our west prairie pothole's recently historic surface. We have seen the following Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon: 50 Northern Pintail 8 Wood Duck (all males) 100 Mallards 12 to14 Gadwall 20 American Widgeon 6 Bufflehead 4 Ring-Necked Ducks 8 Lesser Scaup Geese; Numerous Canada, Snow and White-Fronted Geese. 5 Trumpeter Swan 3-5 Northern Harriers (both Silver and Browns) have passed through every day since Friday the 14th of March.
