North of Hwy. 20 the thaw is slow in coming - frozen in the morning, thaw
in the afternoon, refreeze  at night.  There are a few spots holding
migrating waterfowl, perhaps waiting for the force field around Clear Lake
to lift.

Thawed and covered with ducks.

L. Scaup - 4
Green-winged Teal - 7
Shoveler - 2
Widgeon - 6
Snow Goose - 24  - headed toward Clear Lake but reversed course

Big Marsh - Butler Co.  (Now Bigger Marsh with land added to the East)
What was open last week is now frozen and what was frozen is somewhat
open.  Hmmm.

White-fronted geese, mallards, pintails, etc. in the center of the marsh
which can be accessed from the dikes that connect with the south concrete
parking lot next to the office and DNR workshop.

On a thawed pond on the west side 
Trumpeter Swan - 3
Canvasbacks and ring-necked ducks.
