This morning, Rose and I birded Otter Creek Marsh
in Tama Co. where the platform is, we were
surprised to see a scissor-tailed Flycatcher
fly in front of us and at fairly close range,
as we watched it fly westbound until it was
out of sight. This was at the intersection of
the north-south dike and the east-west dike.
We tried to relocate it without success. This
is the second one I have encountered this year,
I hope this is a continuing trend, as this one is
a favorite. Other birds of interest were: a pair
of Eur. Tree Sparrows, 1 Ross's Goose, 1 Trumpeter
Swan, 1 Fem. Hooded Merganser with 10 little ones,
1 Y.B. Cuckoo,1 Bell's Vireo, 4 Alder Flycatchers,
and a pair of Gray Partridges south of Dysart.

Good Birding,
Tommy Stone,
Evansdale
