The NW Clayton Co. was conducted today, Jan 3rd, with a preliminary tally of 57
species, a new record for this count.

I am still waiting on numbers, but species wise, this was an exceptional count
with several new all-time species. Highlights included Great Blue Heron,
Trumpeter Swan (only waterfowl at the moment), Gray Partridge, Golden Eagle,
NORTHERN GOSHAWK, Eurasian Collared-Dove, all 7 woodpeckers, a TOWNSEND'S
SOLITAIRE, Hermit Thrush, Yellow-rumped Warbler, 7 species of sparrows,
Brown-headed Cowbird and 4 finch species.
