Dear Professionals,
The Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) will wrap up the year 2003 with a popular course, "Amplitude Versus Offset (AVO) Basics". The course will be held in Bandung on December 8-9, 2003. The two-day course will address the fundamentals of A.V.O., emphasize the problems and provide methods of dealing with the problems to make A.V.O. an effective stratigraphic tool. The course is applied rather than theoretical and with its practical approach and exercises will benefit geologists, engineers and technical assistants as well as geophysicists who have little experience of the method. The course will be taught by Dr. A. Easton Wren, a well known consulting geophysicist from Calgary, Canada and recognized internationally as an innovative geophysicist who is leader in the application of new seismic techniques and has an aptitude for conveying concepts in a lively manner through courses and documentary TV programs. Dr. Wren is current in state-of-the-art seismic methods, has lectured at U.S. and Canadian universities, and has presented industry-oriented courses to a wide variety of audiences. The course fee is US$ 650 for IPA members and US$ 750 for non-members. Included in the course fee is hotel accommodation for 3 (three) nights.
