Rekan rekan IAGI

Ber ulang2 sudah saya katakan , baik dalam forum resmi maupun dalam
diskusi bahwa IPA adalah asosiasi dari perusahaan perusahaan  minyak dan
perusahaan yang  berhubungan dengan indusrtri migas (dalam hal ini
dominan di sektor hulunya).
Sebagai asosasi perusahaan maka adalah wajar apabila tujuan utamanya
adalah kepentingan bersama dari perusahaan itu , termasuk didalamnya
menjadi "pressure group" (kalau perlu) . Hal ini sudah dibuktikan dalam
perjalanan sejarah mereka al. dalam soal pajak , pengalihan Caltex , UU
- migas , dsb.
Dus aktifitas yang lain adalah dalam mendukung tujuan tersebut diatas.

Soal AAPG agak berlainan , walaupun ada kata "American" didalamnya ,
tidak terlalu kentara (walaupun pasti ada) pembelaan kepentingan "the
American".

Apakah menguntungkan kalau kita menjadi afiliasi dari AAPG  ?

Lihat dulu apakah afiliasi berarti "cabang"-nya AAPG atau ka mitra ?

Kalau jadi "cabang" , ya nanti dulu , kalau jadi mitra kelihatannya Ok
saja .
Hal ini sudah kita lakukan pada saat IAGI menjadi "mitra" pada saat kita
menyelenggarakan Int'l AAPG Conference di Bali.

Walaupun peran kita sangat sangat kecil (al. karena kita secara "cash""
tidak mempunyai peran) IAGI mendapatkan keuntungan yang lumayan dimana
(anehnya IPA , mungkin karena punya uang dan Board of Director -nya
banyak the American mendapatkan PI 30 % , IAGI 10 % dan HAGI 10 %).
Padahal yang punya Bali kan IAGI dan HAGI , dan karena diadakan di Bali
maka begitu banyak peserta yang mau hadir , hal mana tidak terjadi di
Kuala Lumpur.

Ini suatu pengalaman yang perlu dipertimbangkan .

Jadi sebaiknya menjadi afiliasi dari AAPG dilakukan atas dasar :
1. Kepentingan IAGI dan nasional
2. Lakukan "case by case".

Kalau UNHAS mendapatkan award dengan embel embel AAPG Student Chapter ,
ini tentunya karena IAGI tidak mampu / belum mampu melakukan hal
tersebut , padahal itu kan menjadi salah satu tugas IAGI sebagaimana
(kembali saya mengingatkan) tercantum dalam AD /ART - IAGI.
