Second Announcement and Call for Papers

International Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Disaster
Mitigation (ICEEDM08)
"Earthquake Disaster Risk Reduction: Engineering Challenges after Recent
Disasters"
April 14-15, 2008, Jakarta, Indonesia

Dear Colleagues

We are pleased to inform you that The Second Announcement and Call for
Papers for the International Conference on Earthquake Engineering and
Disaster Mitigation (ICEEDM08) has been released.

The Conference will take place at Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, on April
14-15, 2008. The Organizing Committee invites researchers, academia, and
practioners in the areas of earthquake engineering and dissaster
mitigation to participate in the conference. The Conference will provide
an opportunity to share views and experiences regarding lessons learned
from recent and past earthquakes, enabling all scientists and practicing
engineers, as well as government officials to formulate action plans for
anticipating future earthquakes. The subjects will include advances in
earthquake engineering, seismic and tsunami.

The main theme of the conference is: Earthquake Disaster Risk Reduction:
Engineering Challenges after Recent Disasters.

The topics include the followings:
. Probabilistic and Deterministic Seismic Hazard Assessment
. Seismic Zonation and Microzonation
. Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering
. Soil-Structure Interaction
. Performance-based Design
. Case Histories in Recent Earthquakes
. Case Histories in Earthquake Engineering Design and Construction
. Tsunami Modeling
. Tsunami Early Warning System
. Seismic and Tsunami Disaster Mitigation and Management
. Retrofit, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction
. Non-engineered Buildings
. Community-based Disaster Risk Management

The keynote and invited speakers with the titles of their presentations
for the Conference are :
