Peter,
I vote for extending the current JCL processing. A quick perusal of [a lot of] our current source tells me that a) the original parm string isn't moved to an internal program area and b) the length is checked before the parm data is parsed.
Now if the length ever gets to be bigger than 32767, I *will* have to do something about those pesky LH instructions. I'm not really concerned about that possibility.
