And, I've noticed that some PDFs have a "Table of Contents" that you can
click on to go directly to a section in the PDF. But, in my experience,
this is RARE.
I think it depends on the version of Acrobat used to create the file, along
with the writers' willingness to make use of it.
IIRC, none of the CA manuals that I have can do this. I
don't remember any IBM manuals that can do this either. So I must jump
directly to some page number and hope that I get near what I need. The
pgdn/pgup to try to find what I'm looking for.
PDFs, IMO, are wonderful to print from. They are nice for serial reading
(oh, how do I bookmark so that I come back to where I left off?). The
stink for doing multi-book finds. Especially if the author of the books
didn't create a search index for them.
Without the *correct* .BKI file, BM Search can't find its own arse with both
hands. PDFs at least provide a serial "Find" capability within the open
document.
Untrue. I opened 'orphaned' (*) BOO files many times and searched them
also. It takes more time, but it is still far more faster than PDF and
faaaaaaaaaaaar more convenient.
(*) - orphaned. I mean single .BOO file without .BKI index.
