Another question on OSA-ICC ... Must a gateway be used?

I plan on configuring 2 OSA-ICC's on the same subnet with 10-12 PC's connected
to a switch that the OSA-ICC's are also connected to. No routers or anything
else. No connections outside of the PC's, switch, OSA-ICC. So as I see it
there is no gateway needed but it looks like the doc says I have to define a
default gateway. Can I get away with leaving the definition blank or putting
in a bogus address or do I need a real gateway?

Thanks all
