Generally, we do them weekly here if there are changes that require. Sometimes we skip a week for various reasons. We rarely go more than two weeks though.
The hospital I used to work at didn't like scheduled downtime, so they tended to IPL only when necessary. Sometimes it would be well over a month between. One side effect of this we discovered was that the longer JES2 had been up, the longer it took to come down completely after $PJES2. I'm not sure if that problem still exists. > > -----Original Message----- > From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Peter Hunkeler > Sent: Thursday, June 23, 2005 7:15 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: IPL periodicity > > Out of curiosity, how often and for what reasons do you IPL your z/OS > systems? > > Peter Hunkeler > Senior IT Specialist, IBM zSeries Technical Sales Support, Switzerland > -------------------------------------------------------- If you are not an intended recipient of this e-mail, please notify the sender, delete it and do not read, act upon, print, disclose, copy, retain or redistribute it.
