On the HDS 9900V a secure erase of a volume or LUN was introduced as a
stealth feature. 

It is coming, or may already have arrived on the USP. I'll check over the
weekend, or perhaps Raymond Noal will have a look if he is reading his
IBMMAIN mail tonight/today.

It won't help you erase you IBM and EMC DASD though :(
