We use 3480 cartridges for archival purposes -- you know, those payroll year-end tapes you have to keep for ten years. At a hundred bucks a pop, I hate the idea of writing a relatively small master file to a modern cartridge that might ordinarily hold 80GB, and then stick it in a vault forever. 3480 carts are cheap. -- David Andrews A.
