I have a situation where HSM will happily start autobackup with MAXBACKUPTASKS equal to 4 but then after a while will demount the tapes it is using only to reload them almost immediately to do further backup. This happens regularly throughout autobackup but it only happens on the TEST system....the PRODUCTION system is fine..the tapes stay mounted until they are full. I have checked the SETSYS parameters for the two systems are there is no obvious reason for this as all the backup parameters are the same.
EG The following message is issued and then the tape M01051 is dismounted and not long after (about a minute) HSM requests the same tape to be mounted again.
