The largest shop I ever worked at had 70,000,000 lines of COBOL(IMS) and
changes had to go thru re certification and TPNS benchmarking. Compiler
changes,
RUNTIME changes, OS changes, hardware changes.

I wrote in a SHARE trip report mid eighties of my favorable impression of
overall process and how ISPF was coming around and
pointed out some of the minutia of Ron Mura's ISPCALL macro in
John Hancock mods on CBT and some of the Deluxe Check mods. So nada
no nothing. About six weeks later the VP of MICR called. Could you
come certify our new system? They had rewritten the whole bleepin
thing using the ISPCALL macro. They liked it, but it meant paying
real close attention to CBT tape for years to come.
